After a brilliant first half of the year, July was characterized by increasing nervousness among investors on the global stock markets. Uncertainties regarding new covid variants, temporarily rising inflation rates and temporarily weakening crude oil prices led to zigzag movements of most indices. Positive economic data in Europe (Purchasing Managers Index) and the possibility of unrestricted dividend payments at banks send positive signals to the markets, but towards the end of the month sideways movement and decreasing volatility were dominant.
