Monthly report August 2021

Monthly chart April 2021

After taking a breather in the previous month, the stock markets recorded new all-time highs in August. In the course of the month, however, the mood of market participants changed several times and volatility was unusually high for a summer month. On the one hand, investors enjoyed strong earnings performance by many companies and positive outlooks for the year. Quite a few companies revised their own targets for 2021 sharply upward. On the other hand, negative headlines in the fight against the Covid 19 pandemic caused unrest. Statements by the U.S. Federal Reserve (FED) regarding a reduction in bond purchases as early as this year were also a big topic, but the market already seems to be anticipating this timing.
We have slightly increased our defensive investments and also maintain our hedges as always.
